Rather work than play
employment over enjoyment. don't know how to slow down, relax, rest
Job 20:18 they are unable to relax and enjoy anything they've worked for.
God smiles on you when you rest.


PSALM 23:1-2 "The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He make me to lie down in green pastures: he leads me beside the still waters.

If you don't rest, you'll get stressed
The difference of being stressed and being blessed comes from rest


People don't relax because:
1. MISPLACED IDENTITY: BASING MY WORTH ON MY WORK

• If I achieve a lot, I must be worthy a lot, valuable, significance. your significance is not
• ECCLESIASTES 10:15 "Only someone too stupid to find his way home would wear himself out with work!"

2. MATERIALSIM: ALWAYS WANTING MORE THINGS

• PROVERBS 23:4-5 "Do not wear yourself out trying to get rich have the wisdom to show restraint.. " 
• sacrificing my health in over work for the first half of your life and sacrificing wealth in order to get health back for the second half of your life
• LUKE 12:15

3. ENVY: WANTING TO BE LIKE OTHERS

• ACCELSIATES 4:4a
• make sure you follow right model

4. VALUING ACHIEVEMENT OVER RELATIONSHIPS

• Value your career more than anything else
• ECEELIASTES 4:7-9 "..why am I always working to do more? And, why don't I let myself enjoy life? and 'who cares? who will get what I leave behind?' what a senseless and miserable way to live! You're better off having someone to enjoy and share the rewards of your work."
• learn how to love first

5. INSECURITY: WHEN I'M AFRAID I WON'T HAVE ENOUGH

• ECCLESIASTES 6:7 "We work to feed our appetites, but meanwhile our souls go hungry"

How can you rest in God?
1. Remember my value to God

2. Enjoy what I already have

• ECCLESIATES 4:6
• at the very last moment, all you need is loving people, not about achievement. 
• ECCELSIATES 9:9 "Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love"
• resting is a part of trusting, way of blessing

3. Limit my work to six days a week

• EXODUS 23:12
• EXODUS 20:9-10a " the seventh day of a week to be a day of complete rest dedicated to me."
• Sabbath means: DAY OF REST
• 3 things you do in Sabbath: rest my body, recharge your emotions, refocus your spirits
• PROVERBS 14:30

4. Adjust my values

5. eXchange my restlessness for God's peace

• maturity knows how to rest
